Changes in the UAE visa regime
Visas for 60 days previously valid in the UAE will now be extended to 5 years. This gives Russian tourists an opportunity to visit the country more often without additional red tape. The new rules will come into force on October 3.
According to the UAE authorities, the changes will allow to streamline the paperwork and registration of foreign tourists. Increased term of the visa will also allow attracting businessmen and students to the country.
It is worth noting that tourist visas for 60 days remain, and the five-year multi visas allow foreigners to stay in the country for 180 days a year. At the same time without leaving the country you can stay in the UAE for up to 90 days. You can apply for a visa through the UAEICP, paying $177.
In addition, introduced a resident visa Green Residence, the owners of which can apply for a residence permit, as well as to act as guarantors of close relatives. This type of visa is for skilled workers, self-employed and investors.
There is also a visa for studying the labor market. It is called the "golden visa", as its holders will be able to find employment in the UAE and extend their stay there.
