Dubai Reefs: World’s largest ocean restoration project
Construction of the ambitious Dubai Reef project has begun in Dubai, set to become one of the largest artificial reefs in the world. Designed by the architectural firm URB, the project will cover an area of 200 square kilometers along the coastline of the Persian Gulf and will include an archipelago of interconnected islets. Beneath these islets, an artificial reef will be created, which will be home to more than 1 billion corals and 100 million mangrove trees.
